Description

animal horn, partly encrusted dark brown patina, remains of pigments, with plant fibre cuff and peg in shape of a human head, min. dam., slight traces of usage;
the horns of various animals were filled with symbolic substances and closed by a large stopper. They were used to cure, heal, cast spells, divine and exorcise.


The object Medicine horn with the object ID 3036152 was part of the auction 76th tribal art auction on March 22, 2014. The object with the lot number 627 achieved a sales price of EUR 600 with an asking price of EUR 450.
