Description
animal horn and skin, plant fibre, wood, magical mass, base
A very similar stopper in the form of a pavian head, acquired by the Ethnological Museum Berlin in 1906, illustrated in Krieger, 1990, Fig. 182 (AHDRC 0119758).
According to Krieger, the wooden stoppers were carved by the sorcerer “madjeni” himself; their long extension is said to have been used to coat the patients with medicine.
