Description

heavy wood, matt brown patina, white pigment remains, cylindrical crest with mask faces and burled decor on both sides, crowned by six figures (central half figure, surrounded by five figures arranged in a circle), pierced around the rim, cracks, small missing parts, traces of abrasion, base;
the Isoko are an ethnic group settling in the western Niger Delta bordered by the Urhobo in the West, the Ijo in the South and the Kwale Igbo and Aboh in the North and Northeast.
