Description

wood, polychrome painted, encrustations, crowned by a platform carved with two standing figures, the front figure wearing mask and costume of “zamble”, slightly dam., minor missing part backside at the chin, abrasion, breakages/contact points (figures arms and platform), rep. (breakage left horn);
a work of the Guro master carver “Sabu bi Boti” (born between 1925 and 1935). Compare E. Fischer/L. Homberger, 2014, p. 28 ff. Coiffure, form of eyes, laughing mouth, motif of horns curved downwards to the front, as well as figural superstructure - features that can be found with all of his masks.
