“Nwenka” embodies the spirit of “dwo”, the son of the creator god “wuro”. Viewed as one of the most sacred of all Bobo masks (second only to the “molo"mask), “nwenka” is used exclusively by blacksmiths in cults centred around “dwo’s” spirit (the “kwele dwo”, “dwosa”, and “sibe dwo” cults).
The object Mask “nwenka” with the object ID 3050451 was part of the auction Collectors’ Items Sale on September 24, 2025. The object with the lot number 106 achieved a sales price of EUR 900 with an asking price of EUR 300.
