Description
wood, dark brown patina, simplified facial features with open worked eyes and mouth, collection number “HD.8P12804” on the reverse side, min. dam., minor missing parts, traces of abrasion, on base;
the “idimu” mask is owned collectively and is kept by an appropriate member of “yananio” or “kindi”. In a major performance , the “idimu” mask is hung from a fence surrounded by the smaller, individually owned “lukwakongo” masks.
The object Mask “idimu” with the object ID 3033838 was last part of the auction 71st tribal art auction at November 24, 2012 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 392 achieved a sales price of EUR 800.
