These masks were bound on a rattan frame and worn diagonally on the head. Head and upper body were hidden under cloth, the lower body was wrapped in luxuriant grass fiber skirts.

The human figure was no longer recognizable and the dancing mask became one with the spirit it represented.


The object Mask “geh-naw” with the object ID 3047403 was last part of the auction 96th Auction at April 24, 2021 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 147 achieved a sales price of EUR 500.
