Description
wood, encrusted blackish brown patina, tribe-typical facial features and “snub nose”, crowned by a pair of bent horns, min. dam., small missing parts, slight traces of abrasion;
probably a variation of the “karikpo” mask type. The horns symbolize superhuman power and strength.
The object Mask “elu” with the object ID 3035223 was part of the auction 74th tribal art auction on September 7, 2013. The object with the lot number 239 achieved a sales price of EUR 800 with an asking price of EUR 750.
