Description

wood, brown patina, kaolin, pointed headgear, two drilled holes in every cheek, pierced around the rim, min. dam., cracks, slight traces of abrasion;
this mask is a mixture between a helmet and a face mask. It is deemed to be the only mask of this ethnic group and represents a kind of “Till Eulenspiegel”.


The object Mask “agwe” with the object ID 3034805 was last part of the auction 73rd tribal art auction at May 25, 2013 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 306 achieved a sales price of EUR 900.
