Description

wood, polychrome paint, eye-catching parallel scarifications in the area of the eyes and the temples, accentuated by paint, open mouth with pointed teeth, pierced around the rim, rep. (metal tag), traces of insect caused damage, small missing parts, fine cracks, metal socle;
the present mask-type incarnates the ghost of a beautiful maiden and the ideal of female and youthful beauty. It appears in honour of ancestors who are associated with fertility, motherhood and feminity.
