Description
wood, dark brown patina, remains of pigments, special detail: fur eyelashes, partly stud with wooden pegs and aglets (mostly missing), min. dam., insect caused missing parts, traces of abrasion.
Probably belonging to the “gle va” type of masks. In the past “gle va” had an enormous reputation, and rarely made an appearance. It only settled large matters, such as stopping wars between villages.
The object Mask with the object ID 3043607 was last part of the auction 88th Tribal Art Auction at March 10, 2018 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house and had the lot number 218.
