wood, matt patina, polychrome paint, protruding forehead and chin, crowned by a pair of horns (tips cut), min. dam., missing parts, traces of abrasion.
Masks of the Sundi are rather rare. They could belong to a variation of the “ndunga” society. Some authors say that they were used in funerary rites wheras others say they belong to diviners.
The object Mask with the object ID 3043048 was last part of the auction 87th Tribal Art Auction at November 11, 2017 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house and had the lot number 470.
