Description

wood, rich reddish brown shiny patina, elongated form with accentuated cheek bones, characteristic detail: linear skin scarification marks framing the whole face, radial tattoos at the chin, slightly dam. (eyes), missing parts (right ear), scratches, abrasion;
the Diomande are a small ethnical group of the Dan cluster, belonging to the Konyanke, with their settling area in northwestern Côte d’ Ivoire and adjacent areas of Guinea. Their maks have often been attributed to the Dan. They are characterized by their elongated faces and grooved facial contours.
