wood, dark brown patina, encrusted blackish mass in some areas, big pierced ears with metal rings attached, crude carved facial features with bare teeth, slightly dam. (nose, left eye), socle;
masquerades had various functions. They should honour ancestors and cultural heroes of the clan, they served to venerate deities of fertility and to perform mythological dances. Sketches and local history were performed from the villagers on occasion of religious, seasonal or family celebrations. This is why the masks show a broad range of variation.


The object Mask with the object ID 3035392 was part of the auction 74th tribal art auction on September 7, 2013. The object with the lot number 8 achieved a sales price of EUR 2,000 with an asking price of EUR 1,800.
