Description

wood, brown patina, pigment remains, temple and cheek scarifications, metal tags (teeth, left ear), pierced around the rim, dam., missing parts through insect caused damage, cracks, traces of abrasion;
this mask type appears at so-called “okoroshi” ceremonies, which are connected with rituals for deities or spirits of the water “owu”.
