Description

wood, encrusted patina, polychrome paint, protruding forehead, facial features in geometrical formes, accentuated by changing colours, inset wooden sticks and a plant fibre cord for fixation with the mouth at the back, min. dam., fine cracks, slight traces of abrasion;
the masks of the Gurunsi group show the contrast between the cultural area of the village and the surrounding wilderness. Most of the masks show beings from the wilderness in an animalic or fantastic shape not visible for humans.
