Description
wood, shiny dark brown patina, remains of pigments, of flat and u-shaped form, a bonnet made from rattan and plant fibres, pierced around the rim, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion, on metal base;
the Lele are decisively influenced by neighbouring Kuba groups, which makes it difficult to differentiate their ritual artworks from those of the other Kuba kinsmen. Present mask form however is typical for the Lele.
