Description
wood, black paint and kaolin, triangular reddish brown facial plane, raised bean-shaped eyes with narrow slits, horizontal tattoos on the cheeks, small mouth with tapering teeth, slightly dam. (mouth, eyes), paint rubbed off;
masks of the Pende were used to worship the chief and for initiation rites or for sacred purposes of the priests.
