Description

wood, reddish brown patina, encrustations with camwood powder, indigo blue pigment, beaded string, free standing on high sandals, striking long arms arranged in flat bows, islamic triangle “tirah” on breast and back, incised tribal marks on forehead and cheeks, drilled pupils (metal tags missing), facial features abraded, slightly dam., traces of insect caused damage (coiffure, left foot)


The object Male twin figure “ere ibeji” with the object ID 3040504 was last part of the auction 83rd Tribal Art Auction at May 28, 2016 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 298 achieved a sales price of EUR 1,200.
