Description

wood, rich blackish brown patina, encrusted in some areas, string of coconut discs around the hips, cap-like hairdo with projecting middle crest and pointed side flaps, pleasing facial features with flat nose and broad mouth, incised scarification marks on cheeks and navel, drilled pupils (metal tags removed), static posture with symmetrical arranged limbs and with hands flat to the thighs, handwritten collection number “P 53” at the bottom of the base, slightly dam., facial features rubbed off through feeding procedures
