Description

wood, red, white and black pigment, the body dyed with red pigment, ornaments partly carved (bracelets and leg rings, necklace), partly painted, “net-bag-pattern” on belly and arms, face painting only preserved in residues, slightly dam., missing parts (superstructure broken off), cracks, abrasion of paint, base;
presumably depicting an important ancestor. The figure might have been crowned by a hornbill, resp. hornbill head as clan emblem or emblem of headhunting.
