Description

The figure sitting with crossed legs wears a fez-like headdress “mpu”, as it was reserved for chiefs. The eyes with painted pupils are inlaid with glass.

The sculpture probably represents a commemorative figure for an important ancestor who was revered as the founder of the lineage.
