Description

wood, colour pigments, coconut discs, metal, fabric, fibres, cowrie shells,
The Yoruba town of Iseyin is situated about 100 km north of Abeokuta and 50 km northwest of Oyo. “Ibeji” from the Iseyin area display influences from both carving centres. The facial features are reminiscent of Abeokuta “ibeji”, the rounded shoulders and arms are reminiscent of Oyo carvings.

Fagg attributed a similar figure to the Falade carving family of Iseyin (cf. Stoll, 1980, fig. 74).
