Description
wood, dark brown patina, encrusted in some areas, necklaces, gracefully built, unusual coiffure consisting of two lobes connected by a tapering bow, the eyes framed by eye-ashes, proportionally big and bulky ears, the eyes inset with tiny metal tags, slightly dam., minor missing parts, traces of old age and usage;
long years of use in the cult have rendered the facial contours of these figures barely recognizable; even the marks on the abdomen, a feature which must not be missing on any Shaki “ibeji”, are hardly visible.
