Description

wood, brown patina, traces of black paint, redwood powder, strings with miniature glass beads and coconut discs, the eyes inset with metal tags (one missing), high towering disc-shaped coiffure with plug-like projection on the forehead, big spectacle-like framed eyes, a teeth-revealing mouth with filed incisors, feet in high sandals, slightly dam., paint rubbed off;
for a comparable figure see R. F. Thompson, who refers to the similarity to works of the carver of Dagikonle of Igbomole. See G. Stoll, 1980, p. 297, ill. 192 as well.
