Description
pumpkin, cassowary bone, pokerwork, spatula handle in shape of a hornbill head, slightly dam., base.
Such calabash containers were used for storing the daily used portion of lime. Lime, betel nut and the leaves of the betel-pepper-bush were mixed together, forming the so-called “betel-bit”.
