Large figurally carved board

Description

wood, brown patina, encrusted black paint, red pigment, the raised rim richly decorated with carved figures in bas-relief (mother figures, equestrian, standing males holding offerings in each hand), painted backside, fragmentary, just one half of the original board preserved, abrasion of paint, stained, traces of insect caused damage, rep. (wooden strip inserted);
reminding of the “opon ifa” oracle boards, but unsual large in size.
