Description

wood, nearly entirely coated with thick encrusted sacrificial patina, dam., missing parts (bowl, legs), fine cracks, base.
The bowl as a symbol for the traditional role of women, the task of which is to provide their men with food. Presumably carved on behalf of a man/widower who asked his ancestors for sending him a traditional woman.


The object Kneeling female figure with the object ID 3043718 was last part of the auction 88th Tribal Art Auction at March 10, 2018 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house and had the lot number 157.
