Description

wood, nearly entirely coated with thick encrusted sacrificial patina, dam., missing parts (bowl, legs), fine cracks, base.
The bowl as a symbol for the traditional role of women, the task of which is to provide their men with food. Presumably carved on behalf of a man/widower who asked his ancestors for sending him a traditional woman.
