H: 8.3 inch

Description

fired clay / ceramic, min. dam. (spout)

A dated photograph of the artist (Felix 2003, p. 160, cat. 4,24) proves that Mr. Kyadi was active around the middle of the 20th century.

Felix interprets the modelled half-figure as a representation of a drummer and suspects that the vessel may have been intended as a memorial to a famous musician or symbolises a proverb related to drumming.

Such a vessel would have been commissioned from the artist for an important idividual.
