Description

wood, partly encrusted greyish brown patina, cord material, a male and a female side, padlock and key attached, three iron hooks on the head, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion;
metal objects are particularly “strong”. They invoke the Vodun “gu”, the god of iron, technology and the violence of war. Padlocks enable to “lock up” evil forces, or shut them up in an iron ring.


The object Janiform figure “bochio” with the object ID 3035871 was last part of the auction 75th tribal art auction at November 30, 2013 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 318 achieved a sales price of EUR 250.
