Description

green hard stone, polished, stylized form, body and head marked by notches, missing part (head), base;
the Mezcala idols of Mesoamerica developed from objects formed like stone axes. In the course of time the differentiation of human forms was increased, but the basic elements of the axe shape were retained.


The object Idol with the object ID 3030458 was part of the auction 77th tribal art auction on June 28, 2014. The object with the lot number 83 achieved a sales price of EUR 900 with an asking price of EUR 600.
