Description

palm fibres, leather, fabric, cowrie snails, cylindrical receptacle with fabric coating, embroidered with cowrie snails, set with four amulet bags, crown-shaped lid with four fabric triangles, slightly dam., traces of old age;
various researchers have shown that the lid of the “house of the head” is intentionally shaped like a Yoruba crown. This is a manifestation of the king’s “inner head”. His physical head is concealed by the curtain of beads hanging from the crown.
