wood, blackish brown patina, carved with eyelets on both sides for attachment of ornament (strings of red glass beads with shell rings), slightly dam., abrasion of paint, beautiful used patina, custom mount;
such unadorned bowl-shaped wooden hats are found in eastern Bontoc. Worn while hunting or travelling, they may also be used as containers for food or water.
