Description
brass, in shape of a seated male figure with hat, the iron spike missing, traces of corrosion;
in pre-colonial times “ogboni” society not only had religious, but political and jurisdictional functions as well. With the founding of the “Reformed Ogboni Fraternity” in 1914 the old rites of “ogboni” society lost their meaning.
