Description

tapering wooden peg with umbrella-like superstructure, made of leaves sewn together and strengthened by red fabric and rattan struts on the underside, elaborate fine work, good condition;
the hairpin served as ornament, but for scratching as well, which was documented by H. Vogt, 1931: “never missing … is a hairpin for scratching…”


The object Hairpin with the object ID 3034302 was last part of the auction 72nd tribal art auction at March 9, 2013 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 53 achieved a sales price of EUR 200.
