Description

6 pieces, metal alloy (bronze/brass/copper), measures outside/inside: a) d: 13/6,5 cm); b) d: 10,5/5,5 cm ); c) d: 11,5/6,5 cm; each with missing parts in the cast, charcoal core visible in parts; d) d: 13/6,5 cm, brass;
The four anklets (a-d) are called “ja nga” (“foot ring) or “nga ngbli” (“big ring”); each consisting of two parts, worked in hollow cast, embellished with elaborate wax thread decor.
Additional: e) broad bulging anklet, 13,5/8 cm, crack, missing part; f) heavy Dogon bangle, d: 12/5,5 cm, each anklet on custom mount


The object Group of anklets with the object ID 3043474 was part of the auction 88th Tribal Art Auction on March 10, 2018. The object with the lot number 195 achieved a sales price of EUR 900 with an asking price of EUR 500.
