until the beginning of the last century gold dust was the most common currency of the country. At every buying or disposal the gold dust had to be weighted, for this purpose natural weights like seeds, shells or bones were used, as well as metal weights, nowadays called gold weights.


The object Goldweight with the object ID 3033153 was part of the auction 70th tribal art auction on September 8, 2012. The object with the lot number 271 achieved a sales price of EUR 800 with an asking price of EUR 500.
