Description

ivory, carved with six elephants one behind the other in a row each getting smaller to the tip, the original form of the tooth nearly entirely dissolved, just recognizable in a narrow strip forming the ground for the animals and at the base, handwritten inscription at the same place: “Emmy Martin Lambarene zum Andenken an die Afrikareis[e] Sommer 1925 Albert Schweitzer” - according to the family personally written by Albert Schweitzer himself, slightly dam., missing parts (rim zone, elephant ear)
