Description

wood, matt and slightly encrusted blackish brown patina, black mass at the belly, coiffure of animal hair, eyes with drilled holes, slightly dam., cracks, traces of insect caused damage (headdress), base;
for closure of medicine containers. The “datu” (religious specialist) made and used a variety of containers of different shapes, both large and small, to store various types of ingredients, medicines and magical substances. Batak medicine containers are known by several names: “guri-guri”, “buli-buli” or “perminaken”.
