wood, dark brown, partly encrusted patina, abundantly provided with heavy strings of metal and glass beads, as well as several metal pendants, eyes inset with white miniature glassbeads, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion, base;
among the Namchi, unadorned dolls made by blacksmiths are young girl’s playthings. When beads, bells and coins are added, however, the doll becomes a surrogate baby for a women who have difficulties in getting pregnant.
