Description

wood, black paint, kaolin, cape from patterned cotton cloth, min. dam., cracks;
probably a work of Agbagli Kossi (1934, Bé - 1994, Lomé). He was one of the most important carvers and sculptors within Togo. Kossi was artist, priest and healer at the same time and like his whole family he practized voodoo, so he was able to fill his figures with spirit himself.
