Description
wood, brown patina, poker work, coiffure with drilled hole, originally holding a small animal horn, slightly dam. (hands), cracks, missing parts (left foot), base;
this figure represents a diviner’s tutelary ancestral spirit. Magical materials were inserted in the cavity on the head to activate the spirit represented by the sculpture. The (now missing) horn served as a closure and was intended for keeping the supernatural power in the figure.
The object Female power figure with the object ID 3042025 was last part of the auction 85th Tribal Art Auction at March 4, 2017 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 360 achieved a sales price of EUR 500.
