wood, middle brown patina, black paint, voluminous forms, tribe-typical facial features, slightly dam., minor missing parts, cracks;
carved human figures - frequently in pairs of male/female - are characteristic in Cameroon Grassfield art. They represent royal memorial figures of important family (lineage) heads and title-holders, as well as royal retainers of the king.
