Description

wood, brown patina, decoration tags, half figure rising from a stool-shaped base, breasts, navel and parting accentuated with decorating nails, eyes with metal tags, slightly dam., minor missing parts, rep. (right breast), base;
the region of the Seno plain is a cultural mosaic shared by the Dogon, Samo, Fulani, Mossi and Kouroumba. The peoples of the plains were endlessly subjected to conflicts, raids and famines. Often they blended with their new overlords. Concerning their figural art a variegated mixture of styles was the result of that historic developement.
