Description

wood, dark brown patina, the facial plane entirely coated with red fabric, big circular eyes with silver metal framing, moustache of animal skin, the mouth set with animal teeth, knotted bunches of black fibre forming the chin beard, sacrificial traces (feathers), slightly dam., insect caused damage (backside, horns), stains;
because of the red fabric and the big circular eyes presumably belonging to the “zakpai” mask type, which is even called “running juju”. Worn by the fastest runner of the village, they are supposed to warn the inhabitants and call for help in case a fire breaks out.
