The inside of the mask is artfully lined with leather, which has been sewn or fixed with small nails and leather strips.

The Ligbi integrated artistic elements of their neighbours, the Kulango, Jimini and Senufo, into their works. The lateral extensions are reminiscent of the “kpélié” masks of the latter group.
