Description

wood, white and red pigment, of characteristic form, the facial plane entirely coated with copper strips (several pieces, fixed by nails), coiffure with rattan bowls, funnel-shaped superstructure of plant fibre, which originally was abundantly decorated with feathers, small traces of insect caused damage (inside), metal base;
it is said that in order to be allowed to wear a “kasangu” mask a warrior had to kill an enemy in combat.
