Description

wood, dark brown patina, kaolin, typical form with a concave vaulted facial plane which is coated with a fine grooved pattern, bonnet of coarse cord material with intact lobe, dark brown plant fibre beard, slightly dam., minor missing parts, paint rubbed off;
“kifwebe” masks basically depict supernatural beings, such as ancestor spirits “katotoshi” visiting their descendants.
