Description

wood, reddish brown patina, “minimalist” overall design, in form of an elongated ellipse with a slightly pointed chin, the nose is a geometric protrusion, eyes and mouth cut out in homogenous form, drilled holes around the rim, slightly dam., paint rubbed off, on metal base
the Lwimbi are a small ethnic group living in Angola to the south of the Songo on the banks of the Cuanza with the Chokwe. Only a few art works are known from the Lwimbi which are strongly influenced by the latter.
