The extremely rare “tinali” are worn by Kalinga and Tinguian women. They consist of strands of hundreds of fine bracelets individually tied, perfectly arranged and graduated.

It is said that they are put on when the girls are still young and they are only removed once or twice a year to restring, or when in mourning. They are meant to cover the arms which are considered white and unsightly without beads
